MCP · Claude · Codex

Use your bookmarks inside Claude and any AI agent.

LinkMinds ships a built-in MCP server. Connect it once and your AI assistant can search by meaning, read, and save to your library, right from the chat.

Works on every plan, including Free · Read-only option · Revoke anytime

What agents can do

Your whole library, one prompt away

Twelve tools cover searching, reading, saving, and organizing.

Search by meaning

Ask "find that article about sleep and memory" and the agent runs LinkMinds semantic search, not a keyword guess.

Read full content

Agents can open any bookmark, including the extracted article text and your own notes, and use it to answer questions.

Save from the chat

Say "save this link to my Research collection". LinkMinds fetches, summarizes, and tags it like any other save.

Organize collections

Create, rename, and nest collections, or move bookmarks between them, without leaving your AI tool.

Read-only by default

Tokens are either read-only or read & write. A read-only client can search and read but can never change or delete anything.

You stay in control

Revoke any token or connected app at any time. Each credential only ever sees your own library.

Setup

Connected in about two minutes

Same server, three steps, any client.

1

Pick your agent

Claude chat connects with a single sign-in. Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients use a personal access token.

2

Add the LinkMinds server

Point your client at https://linkminds.zwinnysolutions.cloud/functions/v1/mcp. Copy the snippet for your client from the sections below.

3

Ask about your library

Try "What have I saved about vector databases?" The agent searches, reads, and answers from your own bookmarks.

Need a token? Claude chat does not need one. For every other client, sign in and open Settings → Developer, create a token (read-only or read & write), and paste it in place of <YOUR_TOKEN>.

Claude chat (claude.ai)

  1. Open Claude (claude.ai) and go to Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector, name it LinkMinds, and paste the server URL below.
  3. Click Connect. A LinkMinds window opens: sign in and approve access.
  4. Start a chat and ask about your bookmarks. No token needed.

Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan. You can disconnect LinkMinds from Settings → Connectors at any time.

Any other MCP client

Anything that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with a bearer token will work.

FAQ

Connecting AI agents: common questions

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools and data. LinkMinds runs an MCP server, so any MCP-compatible assistant can use your bookmarks as a source.

Which AI agents work with LinkMinds?

Claude chat (as a custom connector), Claude Code, and Codex CLI are documented here. Any other client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with a bearer token can connect using the generic settings above.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. MCP access works on every LinkMinds plan, including Free. Saving through an agent counts toward your normal monthly save quota. Your AI client may have its own plan requirements for custom connectors.

Can an agent delete my bookmarks?

Only if you give it a read & write token. Read-only tokens, and connections you approve as read-only, can search and read but cannot create, edit, or delete. Use read-only unless you want the agent to make changes.

How do I create or revoke a token?

Sign in to LinkMinds, open Settings, then Developer. Create a token, choose read-only or read & write, optionally set an expiry, and copy it once. Revoke it from the same page whenever you like.

Is my library sent to the AI company?

Only what the agent asks for during a conversation, such as search results or a bookmark you ask it to open, is passed to your AI assistant, under that assistant’s own privacy terms. LinkMinds never gives agents access to anyone’s library but yours.
